Why every home needs its skate park

When you build six multi-million-dollar luxury prize homes a year, you’re always looking for that point of difference: ‘What makes this home stand out compared with all the others out there?’

For their 2023 Christmas prize home, Endeavour Foundation Lotteries decided to go with an Australian-first and have included a skate park in the $2.35m prize.

Then they got Australian skateboard prodigy Haylie Powell to test it out.

“This is so sick,” said the 17-year-old Sunshine Coast star, “It’s really well built too.

“I reckon you’d be the coolest kid in Glass House, for sure. Imagine just going to school and being like ‘I have a skate park in my back yard,’ – it’s pretty cool.”

General Manager of Endeavour Foundation Lotteries, Kirsty Moore, said every home needs its own skate park, something that makes it stand out from the crowd – and impress the kids at school!

“We have to consistently deliver something that people will always expect to see in a quality prize home – an amazing four-bedroom, three-bathroom, luxury home with a pool and all the trimmings,” said Ms Moore.

“The challenge is to then include a unique or desirable feature that most people wouldn’t spend their hard-earned dollars on but would love to own; something they don’t expect so people stop and think, ‘Wow, I wouldn’t ever have thought to do that.’

“So, this home has an actual skate park, but every home needs its own version of the skate park – something that makes it stand out from the crowd and makes it a great place to be!”

The stunning $2.35m prize on the Sunshine Coast in the picturesque Glass House Mountains, is set to be raffled just in time for Christmas.

“I can’t wait to find out who our lucky winner will be and see how this amazing prize will change their lives,” Ms Moore said, “On top of a mortgage-free home, the winner will also pick up half-a-million dollars in cashable gold bullion, the skate park, a retro caravan, and everything else.”

Proceeds from Endeavour Foundation Lotteries go to creating opportunities for people with disability to work, develop skills, explore their interests and be involved in the community.

Endeavour Lottery #452 closes at 10am AEST Thursday 14 December and is drawn 11am AEST Thursday 21 December. Individual tickets start at $10 but are cheaper per-ticket when bundled.
