Australia’s fastest growing real estate firm Stone Real Estate has added to its Gungahlin franchise with the announcement that former McGrath agent Kris Hellier will be joining the team.

Hellier joins the business as a partner and agent, having ranked as a top performing agent consistently across Canberra in recent years.

He is a highly sought-after property sales specialist, and brings close to a decade of experience during which he has honed and demonstrated superior negotiating skills as an agent. At Stone, Hellier will be reunited with Jessica Smith, Principal at Stone Real Estate Gungahlin, with the pair previously working together at McGrath for five years.

Smith said: “We are incredibly excited to have Kris come on as part of the business. We started our careers together, and after I launched Stone Canberra last May I hoped there’d be an opportunity to work together once more.

“Kris is undeniably one of Canberra’s best performing agents and I feel privileged not only to work alongside him again, but to be able to assist his clients to get the most out of what working under the Stone Real Estate banner provides. Stone is an incredible brand and now Kris will be able to expose his clients to the benefits of the brand, the tech and the team.”

Stone Real Estate adopted a franchise model in 2016 and has since continued to experience rapid growth, building a substantial presence through New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, with over 60 offices.

Hellier said: “I'm excited to be joining a young, dynamic team that I have previously worked alongside, and joining forces with my partner to expand the brand.

“I have been thinking about a change for a long time and given the existing relationships I have with the team at Stone it was the right move to make. I’m excited about having the opportunity to be part of a brand that is just beginning its story and only going from strength to strength. I felt now was the right time to make the move given the recent changes in market conditions, to bring a fresh new energy to my team and the clients I work with.

“I'm looking forward to expanding my skills across the Canberra region and I'm also excited to help grow the current business and to provide mentorship and advice to some of the new agents in our business.”

Stone Real Estate Head of Franchise, Luke Cameron, said Kris is a “significant coup” for the Stone Gungahlin office. “The fact that Canberra’s leading agent recognises the potential for growth with Stone is a clear vote of confidence in what our franchisees are providing for the market and testament to Jessica Smith’s leadership”

Smith added: “Stone is very forward thinking with its approach, using leading edge technology - while other businesses in the space have reputations for being quite stagnant. It’s refreshing being part of a brand that embraces change. Having Kris on board now, I’m excited to surround him with people that are like-minded about embracing change and leading the market in innovation.”
